challenges and charms of boat life
First off, I'd like to thank Gordon, who I met on the train and now is one of my neighbors for opening my eyes to the possibility of moving on to a boat much sooner than I ever expected. Also to Teresa from www.sailingsimplicity.com whose article gave me motivation to just buy a boat now instead of saving for one. Luckily I already had a website about living cheap and simple myself, but reading her article about money was all the extra motivation I needed. Check out her article which changed my life - http://sailingsimplicity.com/money-money-money-mon-ay/
Living on a boat is a completely new and foreign experience to me. The first few months have taught me valuable lessons and I've met some amazing new friends and neighbors in "The Grove". I'm loving life without TV, internet, electricity, air-con, and lots of other creature comforts. It is hard to keep up with the website however, just not enough time at the library. Enjoy what I have for now.
The first song in this video is one of my favorite Jimmy Buffett songs. "Someday I Will". It's always been a song that motivates me to do things and not just dream about them. It's okay to say "someday I will", but you feel even better the day you can say, "I did". I always said someday I would live on a boat. It feels so good coming out of my mouth, now that I can finally say, "I live on a boat". The song is pretty slow and boring so I had to spice up the second half of the video with a goofy song!
