Palabra/Frase de la Semana
I'm still not sure what I want to do with this page. Mainly it is just some extra self-motivation to continue improving my Spanish. I realize there are many great sites, books, podcasts, etc. for learning Spanish and plan on putting up my favorites soon. My vision is a page full of useful Spanish words for travelers, as well as having some fun and translating funny quotes from movies, my favorite Spanish songs and more. Feel free to comment in El Blog if you have any suggestions, things you would like to see, or questions. Thanks to Al, my roommate for helping me with all my Spanish questions, and editing. Time to have some fun!
Palabra del viajes, Nueve de Junio, 2011
Abrir, abierto to open, open El banco queda abierto desde ocho de la manaña hasta tres de la tarde. The bank stays open from 8 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon.
Common mistakes: In English we say 8 in the morning, do not be tempted to say ocho en la mañana. The correct way is to use de.
Useful travel phrase: ¿A que hora abre el estación del autobús? What time does the bus station open?
Related: Cerrar to close ¿A que hora cierra la tienda? What time does the store close?
Deja de mirarme, cisne. Stop Looking at me, swan.
A classic line from Billy Madison, extremely fun to attempt the Spanish translation in an Adam Sandler accent!
